Working and studying for the CPA exam?
CPA Exam preparation is more difficult than you can imagine. It becomes more difficult when you are also working. The struggle is genuine. This is my personal experience as I finished college and began working as an office clerk at a Texas law firm. The goal is to complete college under the Accounting course, and I was successful in completing my Bachelor of Science in Accounting. The issue arose when I graduated from college and needed to pay for my own apartment. This is where adulthood enters the picture, and you begin to understand your adult responsibilities. I had no choice but to work, despite the fact that I am not yet a CPA. The original plan after college was to take the CPA Exam, but our family ran into financial difficulties, so I had to step in and act like an adult. I'm 24 years old, live on my own, and pay my own way. My job as an office clerk significantly improves my financial situation. However, I have an unfilled goal on my list. That is to become a CPA. So I started thinking and looking at things from different angles. Despite the fact that my job pays the bills, I still want to be a CPA. This year, I decided to take the CPA Exam. I'm hoping to finish all four sections within a year or so. Since I graduated from college, I haven't taken the exam. I had to put it on hold in order to work and pay my bills. Things are even crazier than I imagined. Taking the CPA Exam is a difficult task. There are numerous requirements that must be met, which fortunately I was able to do just in time for the exam. I now have two months until my first section exam. I can't wait to be done with this! The real issue now is studying. If I wasn't working at the same time, it would be a piece of cake. I enjoy studying. I used to enjoy studying and paying close attention in college. I keep things in check. But now that I'm also working, things are much more complicated than I anticipated. Definitely not an easy task to multitask. Time management became important. It is critical that I be able to handle two tasks at once. So, after working 8-9 hours a day, I need to arrive home as soon as possible to study. I study for 5-6 hours before going to bed. The same routine for the next two months, until I finish an exam and wait for the results. There will still be three sections left. I guess all I have to do now is be patient and focus on this goal. I can do it! Right?
